Latest new routes

Deer Leap is a small cliff located in Central Vermont (New England). Since 1946rock climbers have been drawn to this beautiful and unusually (for Vermont) clean rock. The cliff offers climbs from grade 5.4 through 5.11 (maybe harder).

All the routes on the main cliff or 'left side' have been led with natural gear. No bolts are to be added to this section. Top rope anchors were installed in November 2001 to help control erosion and protect the trees on top of the cliff. For specific route information see route descriptions . The 'right side' of the cliff features an array of interesting lead climbs starting at 5.7.

Note: Climbing is dangerous!

If you attempt to climb this cliff, you may quite possibly screw up and DIE! You may also be maimed or crippled, you might just loose your job and your girl friend. Any way you look at it, climbing is a BAD idea. If you do maim or kill yourself climbing, it is entirely your choice and responsibility!!! You were warned , so listen. Be smart and stay on the official Deer's Leap Overlook trail. If you do choose to climb, be safe, back up any fixed gear, and know what you are doing. Even experts get killed at this game.
