The "Inn at the Long Trail" located immediately below Deer Leap on Route 4 offers free camping in a flat, grassy area on the south side of Route 4. Ask permission at the front desk and make sure to hit the Irish Pub for the best pint this side of County Cork.

More private camping can be found within 45 minutes of Deer Leap. Look for Chittenden Reservoir (West on Route 4 - if you have a canoe) or Plymouth State Park (East on Route 4).
